Dragonfly (Robin LaVerne Wilson), 2023 Virtual

Dragonfly is also Robin LaVerne Wilson [and alter ego Miss Justice Jester]–multidisciplinary conceptual trickster artist who alchemizes spectacle, ritual, text, visuals, music and activism to educate, [re]create and [re]store the human archive. I also vacillate between first- and third-person in my bio and accept all pronouns offered respectfully. She is a Franklin Furnace 2021 grant recipient, and her performance series ABSCONDED PROJECT has been featured in Ecumenica, Performance Art Journal, Hyperallergic, and Brooklyn Rail. Her work as lead artist has been presented at Guggenheim Gallery at Chapman University [California], Theatre Neumarkt [Zurich], Cabaret Voltaire [Zurich], Jack NYC, Hemispheric Institute [NYC], and DreamWeek [San Antonio].

Dragonfly is a long-term collaborator with Sprinkle+Stephens EARTH L.A.B. [San Francisco] at multiple Ecosex conferences and happenings. In community with La Pocha Nostra, she has been featured at Hull-House Museum [Chicago] and The University of Chicago. During Sister Dragonfly’s ten-year tenure with the Stop Shopping Choir she has overtaken sold-out stages of Joe’s Pub [NYC], The Greek Theatre [Berkeley], Adelaide Fringe [Australia] and Edinburgh Fringe Festivals. We are also alum of Creative Change Artist Retreat [Sundance], Space Camp [Zurich], and a resident of Grace Exhibition Space [New York].
